1.   [ leave ]這個動詞可以當及物動詞，也可以當不及物動詞，這題的重點就是不完全及物動詞[ leave ]的句型。它的句型如下：

      1)   leave + sth or sb + adj

            a)   Don’t leave the door or screen open because mosquitoes will fly into our room.

            b)   Their parting in Taipei left the boy heartbroken.

      2)   leave + sth or sb + p.p.

            a)   His father’s bad temper left the truth covered by the false one that was made up by him.

      3)   leave + sth or sb or oneself + verb-ing

            a)   Keeping watching TV will leave your poor sight getting worse.

            b)   Watching TV for hours will leave us eating snacks all the time.

      4)   leave + sth or sb + to verb

            a)   After two-hour exercise, Mom will leave me to rest for a while.

            b)   My parents will not leave me to go out on a date on weekdays.

      5)   leave + sth or sb + preposition

            a)   Please leave the lights and air-conditioner on because my children will come back home in 15 minutes.

            b)   Wherever the Chens go, they always leave garbage behind them.

      6)   leave + sth or sb + noun

            a)   Staying with his family in Hsinchu leaves him no choice but to turn down the offer to work in Taipei.

            b)   After taking the medicine, it left me no pain at all in my body.

      這題使用的句型是[ leave + sth or sb + to verb ]的被動態，它的主動態可以是如下：

      People in the city left him to have nothing.

      = He was left to have nothing.

      = He was left with nothing.
