A Substitute Teacher

Tammy Lai – the 9^th grader

In the morning, I went to school by MRT. After the MRT entered railway platform, a man who seemed to be in hurry left his tablet computer on his seat. I quickly ran after him, regardless of I was also in the hurry on my way to school. I lent it back to him, and he thanked me. I said, "You don't need to thank me. I take it for granted that everyone needs to help each other." He gave a me a big thumb-up and had a suggestion that he buy a cup of drink for me. I regarded him and walked to school. While the school bell was ringing, a substitute teacher came into our classroom. I felt so surprised that I couldn't say any words. He was the man who I met in the morning. He recognized me and told my classmate to set me an example for my good behavior.

In the morning, I went to school by MRT. When the car stopped at a station near my school, a man who seemed to be in a hurry left his tablet computer behind on his seat. Although I hastened to school as well, I picked up the tablet computer and ran after him quickly. After having it back, he thanked me, gave me a big thumbs-up and wanted to treat me a bottle of soft drink. I declined and said, "Don't mention it. I take it for granted to help each other." Then I walked to school. While the school bell rang, a substitute teacher came into the classroom. Much to my surprise, I couldn't say a word because he was the man whom I met this morning. He smiled at me, telling all students in the classroom what happened to him and me this morning, and acclaiming my behavior.
