Practice Makes Perfect (by 12th grader)

Ryan Chen - the 12th grader

When it comes to perfection, some may just think it to be a wonderful thing that can gain praise from others.  But behind the curtain, it needs lots of practice.  Although we all know this old saying, “Practice makes perfect,” we forget the hardship which people spend often.  For example, if we keep speaking English every day again and again, we can speak it fluently after a few months.  I used to play a song with piano, and its sheet music looked very hard when I got it.  I couldn’t help but wonder if could play it.  To my surprise, after 3-week practice, I could play it even without the sheet music.

As a result, don’t complain why we can’t do better.  What we need to do is practice persistently over and over.

When it comes to perfection, some may just think it to be a wonderful thing that can gain praise from others.  But behind the curtain, it needs lots of practice.

Although we all know this old saying, “Practice makes perfect,” we often forget the hardship which people spend.  For example, if we keep speaking English every day again and again, we can speak it fluently after a few months.  Another example is that I used to play the piano when I was in elementary school.  One day, I was asked to play a song.  When I had its sheet music, I knew it was a difficult one.  I couldn’t help but wonder if could play it.  To my surprise, after 3-week practice, I could play it even without the sheet music.  As a result, I always tell myself and my friends that don’t complain why we can’t do better but urge ourselves to practice persistently over and over.
