Selfishness (by Freshman)

Selfishness is a common characteristic that you can see on modern people.  My parents told me that a few decades ago, the society was full of harmony and kindness.  However, people’s personality changed generation to generation.  Nowadays, it’s hard to see someone who is generous.

I think nothing happens without a reason.  As I know after the Great Depression and World War II, less and less people have confidence in their president or leader.  Moreover, the invention of the internet and smart phone let everyone don’t care about relationship with other.

So when people lose their confidence and consideration, they became selfishness.  Nevertheless, selfishness is not completely a bad thing.  People who is selfish can get rid of some problem.  For example, they don’t like to interact to other people, so they don’t need to spend their time to party or shopping.  They not only have more time to do what they want to do but also save money.  On the contrary, they will lose some opportunity to meet friends.

No matter what kind of person you’re, just choose the best way you think to live.

Selfishness is a common characteristic that you can see on modern people.  My parents told me that a few decades ago, the society was full of harmony and kindness.  However, as time changes, people change too.  Nowadays, it’s hard to see someone who is generous and sympathetic.

I think nothing happens without a reason.  After the Great Depression and World War II, fewer and fewer people in many countries have had confidence in their presidents or leaders.  Moreover, the invention of the Internet and smart phones let just a few people care about their sincere friendship with others. 

So when people lose their confidence and become indifferent, they end up selfish.  Nevertheless, selfishness is not completely a bad thing.  People who are selfish can get rid of some problems.  For example, they don’t like to interact with other people in person, so they don’t need to spend their time partying or shopping.  They not only have more time to do what they want to do but also save money.  On the other hand, they will lose some opportunities to have real friends.

No matter what kind of person you’re, you may just as well put selfishness aside and choose the way you feel comfortable to lead your life.  In the end, people can still live in a peaceful and harmonious world in a modern way.
