分詞的另一種用法是分詞當做【形容詞】。
文法 – 分詞當做形容詞
1. The young lady wearing a pleated skirt is my aunt Sandy.
= The young lady who is wearing a pleated skirt is my aunt Sandy.
= The young lady who wears a pleated skirt is my aunt Sandy.
[ wearing ]修飾[ lady ] – 主動
2. Mr. and Mrs. Brown running the largest supermarket in our city live next to my house.
= Mr. and Mrs. Brown who run the largest supermarket in our city live next to my house.
[ running ]修飾[ Mr. and Mrs. Brown ] – 主動
3. The sleeping baby over there is Mrs. Linden’s son.
= The baby who is sleeping over there is Mrs. Linden’s son.
[ sleeping ]修飾[ baby ] – 主動
4. The boss of a computer store helped me take some useful parts out of my broken computer.
= The boss of a computer store helped me take some useful parts out of my computer which was broken.
[ broken ]修飾[ computer ] – 被動
5. Many students saw a black dog beaten by a tall man in the park run away.
= Many students saw a black dog that was beaten by a tall man in the park run away.
[ beaten ]修飾[ dog ] – 被動
6. My sister and mom watched a pickpocket caught in a mall.
= My sister and mom watched a pickpocket who was caught in a mall.
[ caught ]修飾[ pickpocket ] – 被動
7. All my classmates saw Taylor and I scolded in history class.
= All my classmates saw Taylor and I who were scolded in history class.
[ scolded ]修飾[ Taylor and I ] – 被動
8. A body buried in the stingy old man’s yard was found.
= A body that was buried in the stingy old man’s yard was found.
[ buried ]修飾[ body ] – 被動
9. I am going to meet a woman having won (or wining) a lot of prizes for her outstanding piano performance.
= I am going to meet a woman who has won a lot of prizes for her outstanding piano performance.
[ winning ]修飾[ woman ] – 現在完成式
10. The man having been (or being) my roommate for three years in university won the lottery last year.
= The man who had been my roommate for three years in university won the lottery last year.
[ being ]修飾[ man ] – 過去完成式
