Honesty Is the Best Policy

Hunter Wang– the ninth grader

One day, my mother went out to buy something.  I thought I could play computer games.  But what bothered me was that I didn’t finish my homework.  An idea suddenly struck me.  It was that I would tell my mom I finished my homework when she came home.  I did it because I supposed my mom wouldn’t check my homework.  But, on the contrary, she did it after she came back.  She was surprised that I lied to her, and she asked me why.  At that moment, I thought I needed to tell her the truth.  So I said sorry to her and told her I just wanted to play computer games.  Although she was a bit angry first, she forgave me.  Since that, I have learned honesty is the best policy.
