The Best Birthday

Sandy’s birthday was around the corner. I convened some friends to discuss the birthday party. Jack suggested to make a big cake, which might make Sandy happy. After the discussion, we decided to hold the party in her apartment. On that day, we decorated Sandy’s house with ribbons and flowers then turned off all the lights. As soon as she entered the house, we clapped hands and yelled, “Happy birthday!” While carrying the big cake out, I didn’t stand firm so the cake hit on Sandy. I was too shocked to say a word. What would she think? Would she shout at me? To our surprise, she laughed loudly and started to throw the cake to us instead of getting mad. In the end, we laughed happily together. “This is the best birthday ever!” said she.

Sandy’s birthday was around the corner. We, her friends including me, got together to discuss about a birthday party for her. Jack suggested buying a big white chocolate cake, which would make Sandy happy because it was her favorite. In addition to the cake, we decided to hold the party at her apartment. On that day, before she returned home from office, we got into her house to do decoration with ribbons and flowers and then turned off the lights. Once she opened the door and turned the lights on, we clapped hands and yelled, “Happy birthday!” She stared at us with a big smile on her face. While taking out the big cake, I didn’t stand steady so the cake fell onto Sandy. Both she and I were frightened by what I did accidentally. I said I was very sorry for my carelessness. At the same time, I feared whether she would be angry and shout at me. To our surprise, she laughed loudly and started to throw the delicious cake to us instead of getting mad. In the end, we laughed happily together with mouth full of cake, and she couldn’t be happier to say to us, “It has ever been the best birthday!”
