What I Want to Be in the Future (by 12^th grader)

What I want to be in the future is a question that usually flashes into my mind.  I used to have many unrealistic dreams such as exploring the whole universe, becoming a legendary star in NBA, being a hero that saves the world from aliens and so on.  However, all of them yield to the reality.

Now, I have a practical but challenging dream – being a distinguished programmer.  The reason why I determined to become a programmer is the admiration that I had for the hackers in movies which I had watched before.  In those movies, hackers used their outstanding programming skills to paralyze the systems and easily made their enemies frustrated.  Desiring to become as powerful as they, I resolved to embark on the way to a programmer. 

Nevertheless, I know better than to wait for it come true without paying effort and just build a castle in the air.  Only by entering a prestigious university can I have a higher possibility to fulfill it.  Hard as I study now, I still have difficulty getting in my ideal university.  Well goes the saying that “Where there is a will, there is a way.”  I will stick to it with my unfaltering will.

What I want to be in the future is a question that flashes into my mind every now and then.  I used to have many unrealistic dreams such as exploring the whole universe, becoming a legendary star in NBA, being a hero that saves the world from aliens and so on.  However, all of them yielded to the reality.

Now, I have a practical but challenging dream – being a distinguished programmer.  The reason why I am determined to become a programmer is the admiration that I have had for the hackers in sci-fi movies which I had watched before.  In those movies, hackers used their outstanding programming skills to paralyze their enemies’ systems and facilities and easily made them scared and frightened.  Desiring to become as smart and powerful as they, I am resolved to embark on the way to becoming a tip-top programmer. 

Nevertheless, I know better than to wait for my dream come true without paying a lot of effort, which means just to build a castle in the air, also called a mirage.  Only by entering a prestigious university can I have a higher probability of fulfilling it.  Hard as I study now, I still have a bit difficulty getting into my ideal university.  Well goes the saying that “Where there is a will, there is a way.”  With my unfaltering determination and perseverance, I definitely can stick to it and make my dream come true one day.
