What Do I Worry about Most  (by 12th grader)

Brian – 12th grader

Before doing something crucial, you are nervous and anxious.  You are worried about what if you make a mistake which leads to great impact.  In case that you can’t reach your goal, what should we do?  This situation seems familiar to most people since many of them have had similar experiences before.  These event have a common feature which is that they happen at the crucial time in your lives.  However, the unsecured mood at that moment can lead to either positive impact or negative impact.  When it comes to the thing I worry most, it is schoolwork.

Recently, I participated in the College Entrance Exam.  Before taking the exam, so anxious and stressed was I that I kept sweating and my shirt was all wet.  In order to lessen my negative moods, I stayed in the restroom and listened to θ-wave music for ten minutes.  Fortunately, it ended up that I had good grades.

Every time I feel unsecured, I would like to stay at a place without anyone around for a while and listen to brain-wave music, such asα, β. Andθ-wave.  As I listen to the music, I will feel calm and be inspired.  What’s more, it helps me concentrate on my goal and then I won’t feel negative moods.

It is common that unsecured emotion is likely to occur to us when we face something challenging and crucial.  It is impossible to get rid of them because this is part of our emotions.  Yet, learning to be accustomed to this emotion is possible.  As long as we learn to get along with them, they can become our assistance that support us to focus on what to do.  Everything has positive and negative aspects while how to deal with it is a question.

Before doing something crucial, we’ll be on edge.  We will be worried about what if we make a mistake which leads to an unexpected consequence.  As a result, we can’t reach our goal and have no idea about what we should do next and what it will be in the coming future.  This situation seems familiar to a lot of people since many of them have had similar experiences before.  These events have something in common.  That is, they usually happen at the critical time in your lives.  However, the unsecured mood at that moment can cause either positive or negative impact.

As for me, I’m no exception.  When it comes to what I worry about most, schoolwork is second to none.  Recently, I participated in the College Entrance Exam.  On the day, before going to the classroom and doing the exam, so tense was I that I kept sweating and my shirt was all wet.  In order to alleviate my negative moods, I stayed in the restroom and listened to θ-wave music for ten minutes.  Fortunately and happily, it ended up that I had good grades.

Every time I feel unsecured, I would like to stay at a place without anyone around for a while and listen to brain-wave music, such asα, β. Andθ-wave music.  As I listen to the music, I’ll cool myself down and feel calm.  What’s more, it helps me concentrate on my goal and then I won’t turn negative.

After I graduate from college, the thing which I’ll be worried about most definitely is not schoolwork.  It’ll be my career.  What we’re worried about will change according to our divergent goals at different stages.  It is common that worries are likely to occur to us when we face something difficult, challenging or significant.  If they are crucial or inevitable, it is impossible to get rid of them because being worried is part of our emotions.  Yet, learning to accustom ourselves to the emotions is possible.  As long as we are able to get along with them, they’ll become positive motivation assisting and supporting us to focus on how we can do things more effectively and efficiently, which leads us to success.
