這題答案是 (B)。 (三民書局英文四自學手冊A – p.190)

這題的重點：

1.   用and連接二個用that引導的名詞子句的時後，第一個that可以省略，但是第二個that不可省略。假若第二個that被省略，可能造成句子意思不明，或者是另外的意思。

      這題的答案是(B) and that。

      假若這題我們用(A)[ and ]的話，至少有二個可能的句子結構：

      1) Several research studies have shown [ that + A子句 and B子句 ]

      2) [ Several research studies have shown … health of prisoners ]是一個子句，而[ and the numbers of violence incidents … drop ]是另外一個子句，但它的小瑕疵是 –

         a) [ , and the numbers of violence incidents … ]

         b) [ … after release have dropped ]

      不管1)或2)，它都忽略另外一個重點，就是句子對等的問題，還有就是意思會不一樣。
