I Won a Marathon Running

Jimmy Wu – the 12^th grader

With the sun shined brightly and the breeze, the weather today was totally opposite to the weather forecast. It was said that there would be drizzle today, so I thought I don't have to participate the marathon. Only could I take part in the race at this stage. I wasn't good at sports inborn. While I was running on the track, seeing lots of people run in front of me without any tiredness, wondering whether I could achieve the finish line. Meanwhile, on the side of the road was a dog sleeping there, however, I didn't notice that. As I stepped on something like ropes, simultaneously, I heard a loud bark. To my imagination, I just stepped on its' tail. Such was the dog's angriness that it ran after me quickly, I couldn't stop running unless the dog stopped chasing me. Not noticing anything around me, I just kept running forward. Abruptly, I noticed that the finish line was just in my presence and no one reached here yet. At last, so surprised was I that I just won the first prize. Unclear as I was to the whole process, I was happy to have the ending like this.

With the sun shining brightly and the breeze blowing tenderly, the weather today was totally opposite to the weather forecast, predicting that there would be drizzle, so I thought I didn't have to participate in the marathon because I wasn't born to be an athlete. Only on such a fine day would I take part in the race. While I was running on the track, seeing lots of contestants running in front of me at their ease, I wondered whether I could get to the finish line. Meanwhile, at the roadside was a sleeping dog which I wasn't aware of. As I stepped on something like a rope, simultaneously, I heard the dog barking because I just trod on its tail. Such was the dog's anger that it ran after me quickly and furiously. I couldn't stop running unless the dog stopped chasing me. Keeping on running forward, I didn't noticed what I was passing through. Much to my surprise, I came in sight of the finish line, and no one was ahead of me. At last, so happy was I that I won first place. Unclear as I was about why and how I could win, I really enjoyed having the ending like this.
