My Graduation Trip (by 7th grader)

Julie – the 7th grader

Just after the second semester started, our school announced that our graduation trip would be canceled due to COVID-19 pandemic. When I heard that, I felt very disappointed because I had been looking forward the trip since I was sixth grade. I know it would be dangerous if the trip happened as our school planned. In order not to take the risk of getting infected, postponed, or even canceled the trip was the wisest choice. Disappointed though I was, I had no choice but to accept this unfortunate news.

Luckily, the school had an announcement which stated the graduation trip would happen in the middle of June. All the students, including me, were so happy and excited about that.

Our graduation trip took place at Taichung and Nantou for two days, and the most impressive part of the whole trip was to ride a bike around Nantou’s Sun-Moon Lake. At first, I was a little afraid of this activity because I couldn’t ride bikes well. So nervous was I that I couldn’t control the distance I went and would almost hit the trees at the roadside for several times. I felt upset for my poor riding skill, but then I realized what I need exactly was to relax and just enjoy the magnificent sight. For the first time, I noticed how beautiful this place was! Green trees and mountains surrounded the lake. Bright sunlight shining the water, the surface of the lake sparkled. I rode my bike toward as the warm wind blew over, and under the setting sun, we finished our first day of graduation trip.

In the second day, we went to Aboriginal Cultural Village, where my friends and I had a whale of a time. We rode on roller coaster, enjoying the lazy river and taking a pirate ship, just to name a few. With screams of laughter, I spent a whole day riding various of exciting and interesting rides. I still remember the fantastic view I saw when I was on the top of the drop tower. It was so high that I could even saw the blue sea in the distance. Before speaking any words, I was falling quickly. In a very short time, maybe less than 5 seconds, I was on the ground again. I would never forget how thrilling it was!

I have never been on any trip like my elementary school’s graduation trip. It’s special have nothing to do with where we go or how much money we spent. It was going on a trip with my friends that make this travel so valuable. Although there may be hundreds of journeys wait for me in the future, I will always remember the trip which I had a great time with my classmates when I was an elementary school’s student.

My Graduation Trip (by 7th grader)

Julie – the 7th grader

Just after the second semester started, our school announced that our graduation trip would be canceled due to COVID-19 pandemic.  When I heard that, I felt very disappointed because I had been looking forward to the trip since I was a sixth grader.  I know it would be dangerous if the trip happened as it was planned.  In order not to take the risk of getting infected with the terrible disease, it seemed that postponement or even cancelation would be the wisest choice.  Disappointed though I was, I had no choice but to accept this unfortunate news.

Luckily, in May, the school had a surprising announcement which stated that the graduation trip would be conducted in the middle of June.  All the students, including me, were so happy and excited about that.

In the 2-day graduation trip, there were two destinations.  One is Taichung and the other is Nantou.  Among many activities in the schedule, the most impressive part for me was to ride a bike around Sun-Moon Lake, one of the most favor tourist attractions.  At first, I was a bit afraid of the road bike ride (because I couldn’t ride bikes well).  So nervous was I that I had problems pedaling, applying the brake, and controlling object distances surrounding me, which almost made the bike crash against trees on the roadside for several times.  I felt upset about my poor riding skill, but I came to realize what I needed was to relax and enjoy the magnificent sight around.  For the first time, I noticed how come Taiwan had such a beautiful place!  Green trees and mountains surrounded the lake.  Bright sunlight shining the water, the surface of the lake sparkled.  I rode the bike around the lake as the pleasant breeze blew over my face.  With satisfaction and amazement, my classmates and I finished our first day when the sun set and the moon came up slowly from behind the mountains.

On the second day, we went to Aboriginal Cultural Village which offered a variety of activities that could be enjoyed by us.  We spent a whole day there, which meant we had a whale of a time.  Many classmates and I rode the roller coaster, enjoying the lazy river and taking a pirate ship, just to name a few.  With screams of laughter, all of us enjoyed various rides full of hilarity and excitement.  I still remembered the fantastic view I saw when I was on the top of the drop tower.  It was so high that I could even see the blue sea in the distance.  Before I could say any words to two classmates sitting beside me, we fell down as fast as it could.  Just in a very short time, maybe less than 5 seconds, we were on the ground again.  I would never forget how thrilling it was!

I have never been on any trip like my elementary school’s graduation trip.  It was spending a happy and joyful hours with my classmates that made this journey so memorable and valuable.  Although there may be hundreds of journeys waiting for me in the future, I will always remember the trip in which I had a great time with them when I was an elementary school student.
